When muscles & other soft tissues are overused, 3-types of problems arise:

2) Small tears resulting from repetitive motion, aka micro-tears,  or

3) a lack of oxygen to the injured area.

          Your body responds to these occurrences by producing tough, dense scar tissue in your problem areas. This scar tissue restricts healthy tissues, by preventing them from moving freely. As more scar tissue builds, your muscles weaken and become shorter, can become trapped,  and the tension that is  placed on the tendons might even cause tendon inflammation or tendonitis. Eventually, all of this leads to a reduced Range Of Motion, loss of strength, and pain. In some cases a nerve can become trapped, so you might experience tingling, numbness, and weakness too.

from light to medium pressure massage.

Ideal if you want a thoughtful session customized for how your body is holding tension. This pressure calms the nervous system. The strokes are long to release surface tension which improves overall circulation.  No Focus Area is treated during this massage. Instead look at Deep Tissue or Therapeutic.
